South African media personality and businessman Warrick ‘DJ Warras’ Stock has been gunned down opposite Carlton Centre building in Johannesburg CBD on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Warras was involved with a security company handling evictions in the area when he was approached by unknown suspects and shot.
He was brutally killed in the broad daylight and police rushed to the scene after being alerted by members of the public about the horrific incident.
At the moment, no arrest has been made yet and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Tributes have poured in for the former SABC's LiveAmp co-presenter, 5FM and Cliff Central radio host, with friends and fellow musicians describing him as a loving and compassionate person. Businessman Rob Hersov has remembered Warras as a ‘brother’ and a ‘decent human being.
DJ Warras is the latest in a string of South African DJs to be gunned down in an mysterious ways, following the deaths of DJ Sumbody, AKA, DJ Skinny Deep, and others.
He was born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal and passed away at the age 40, started in the media industry in 2008 when he joined YFM as a presenter.
The South African Police Service(SAPS) is busy investigating the case of murder.
